Pain and healing time are guide values, averaged from information given by piercing and tattoo studios. Where the figures come from. “n/a” means: too few studios give a figure.
The belly, chest and skin are constantly moving, and clothing rubs over them. That's why healing on the body usually takes months, even if the area looks calm from the outside earlier.
Surface piercings, microdermals and skindivers lie flat in the skin. They can grow out if the skin is under tension or something constantly rubs over it. The choice of spot matters more here than with any other piercing.
During pregnancy and breastfeeding I don't pierce the navel or nipple. Nipple jewellery has to come out for breastfeeding.
