Piercing guide › Face piercings › Nasallang
The nasallang is a single straight bar that goes horizontally through the left nostril, the septum and the right nostril. From the outside you only see the two ends.
All three passages have to lie on an exact line. I measure the nose, mark both sides and plan the route through the septum before I pierce.
A long straight bar made of Bioplast or titanium to ASTM F136, whose length I determine after measuring.
Pain and healing are guide values from my practice, because too few studios give reliable figures. The nasallang essentially combines three piercings in one, and cartilage has a poor blood supply. After three to six months it has usually healed on the outside; full healing deep inside often takes six to twelve months. That requires consistent aftercare.
With a deviated septum or a nose in which no straight line is possible, I say no.
The nostril consists of cartilage. It heals more slowly than skin, even if the spot looks calm from the outside earlier.
How to care for the piercing in each phase is explained in detail on the Care and aftercare page. The short version: sterile saline solution, don't twist, don't fiddle with it, be patient.

Pain and healing time are guide values, averaged from information given by piercing and tattoo studios. Where the figures come from. Everyone feels and heals differently.
