Piercing guide › Face piercings › Anti-eyebrow
The anti-eyebrow sits on the upper cheekbone, below the outer corner of the eye. It is a surface piercing: entry and exit lie on the same plane.
I check how much skin can be lifted and mark both points. The piercing is done with a needle; the channel lies flat under the skin.
As initial jewellery I use a curved bar or a surface bar made of Bioplast or titanium to ASTM F136.
Surface piercings grow out more often than others. The healing time is based on only a few studio figures.
If the skin is under tension, the piercing is very likely to grow out. Then I say no.
With surface piercings, entry and exit lie on the same plane. The body can therefore push the jewellery out more easily. If the channel gets shorter or the jewellery shows through the skin, get in touch early.
How to care for the piercing in each phase is explained in detail on the Care and aftercare page. The short version: sterile saline solution, don't twist, don't fiddle with it, be patient.
When to see a doctor
Pain and healing time are guide values, averaged from information given by piercing and tattoo studios. Where the figures come from. Everyone feels and heals differently.
