Piercing guide › Face piercings › Austin bar
The Austin bar goes horizontally through the tip of the nose. Unlike the nasallang, it goes neither through the nostrils nor through the septum. Two balls are visible on the left and right of the tip.
I measure the tip, mark both points symmetrically and check that the channel runs in front of the septum. Then I pierce after your confirmation.
A straight bar made of Bioplast or titanium to ASTM F136.
The Austin bar is named after the man who first wore it.
With a very narrow nose tip there isn't enough room for a stable channel.
How to care for the piercing in each phase is explained in detail on the Care and aftercare page. The short version: sterile saline solution, don't twist, don't fiddle with it, be patient.
