The VCH goes vertically through the clitoral hood. The clitoris itself is not pierced.
There must be enough room under the hood for the jewellery to sit freely. Studios check this beforehand, often with a small test of whether the hood can be lifted easily.
A curved bar made of implant-grade material, for example titanium to ASTM F136, is usual.
The basic rules of aftercare apply here too: sterile saline solution, clean hands, don't twist the jewellery. More on the Care and aftercare page.
