What you
should know

Because only a little tissue is pierced, it is one of the faster-healing intimate piercings. Urine helps rinse the channel.

Jewellery

A ring or curved bar made of implant-grade material is usual.

Risks

Healing
and care

The basic rules of aftercare apply here too: sterile saline solution, clean hands, don't twist the jewellery. More on the Care and aftercare page.

When to see a doctor

  • Redness and swelling keep increasing after the first few days.
  • Pus comes out, or you develop a fever.

I don't do intimate piercings. This page explains what the piercing is. If you want one, choose a studio that specialises in intimate piercings and looks at your anatomy beforehand. The healing time is a guide value, averaged from information given by piercing and tattoo studios. Where the figures come from.
